West Coast / Fine Dining

Camille's Restaurant - In Bastion Square at Langley Street, lower level. Romantic and friendly. Interesting west coast cuisine with an extensive and affordable wine list.

Café Brio - West Coast dining with Italian influences. Very close to Abigail's Hotel, this small elegant restaurant has friendly staff and excellent food – a winning combination that makes for a great experience. The owners Greg and Sylvia have won numerous awards.

Ulla - One of Victoria’s latest entrants to the fine dining arena and touted as one of the best.  Understated décor, excellent and knowledgable service and a warm ambiance.   The food is fresh, artistic and dynamic.

Steak

Heron Rock Bistro - Serving the community of James Bay with fresh local food and beverages at affordable prices

Harbour House Restaurant - Crackling fireplaces, candlelight, music and excellent service. Steak and Seafood.

The Keg - Friendly, casual atmosphere specializing in steak, prime rib, chicken and seafood. 



French

Brasserie L'Ecole - Near Chinatown.  Considered one of the best restaurants in Victoria.  The menu reflects an approach to cooking in a classic French country style using seasonal, locally available products.

Restaurant Matisse - Relax and enjoy authentic French cuisine at it's best. Outstanding Crème Brulee.



Asian / International

Golden City - Nestled in the heart of Chinatown, Golden City is one of the finest places to enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine

Don Mee Chinese Restaurant - One of the most popular of many good Chinese restaurants in Chinatown. Great Dim Sum at lunchtime.

JJ Wonton Noodle House - Looking for a change from the ordinary? Check out this Cantonese Szechuan style restaurant – it's a local favorite.

Japanese Village - Watch your personal chef dazzle you with sleight of hand bite size bits of steak and seafood. Learn the art of sushi dining at their sushi counter.

Azuma Sushi - Delicious Japanese food for lunch or dinner

Baan Thai - Excellent hot and spicy food. Casual and friendly atmosphere. Great Thai soups and seafood. Very popular.

The Reef - The Reef serves Jamaican themed dishes including jerk chicken and pork, escovèche and tomato jalapeno vodka soup. They also offer a decent selection of cocktails, wines, Jamaican Dragon stout, Red Strip, and Carib beer from Trinidad.

Da Tandoor - Victoria's choice for East Indian cuisine

The Rathskeller - A taste of Bavaria at the corner of Quadra and View St.



Seafood

The Marina Restaurant - Semi-formal dining. The award-winning Marina Restaurant is a local favourite for delicious seafood, regional cuisine and Sunday Brunch.  Note they also have an excellent sushi bar.

Ferris' Oyster Bar - Casual dining, extensive menu with a focus on burgers, seafood and oysters.  A great local and staff favorite.

Red Fish Blue Fish - Fish and Chip take-out in the Inner Harbour.  Red Fish Blue Fish prides its business in offering sustainable 100% Ocean Wise seafood and an earth friendly re-use and recycle system.  You’ll know you’re close when you see the line-up a mile long. (open seasonally)

 



Italian & Mediterranean

Il Terrazzo - Semi-formal.  Tucked away inside a courtyard in Old Town, this busy Italian restaurant is always full of lively locals. Outdoor patio with romantic fireplaces. Great food!

Pagliacci's - Known as Pag's to the locals. Very fun, casual, busy and noisy. Fresh pasta and salads, amazing desserts. Big portions. No reservations. Live music weeknights at 9:00pm.

Zambri's - This reaturant has earned numerous accolades for its honest and fresh Italian cuisine.

The Tapa Bar - Enjoy the cobblestone patio or the rich warm interior atmosphere. Watch the chef's work in an open kitchen where they prepare Spanish, Cuban and South American dishes. Relax and enjoy this lively atmosphere.



Vegetarian

Re-Bar - Great local spot near Bastion Square featuring fresh juices and delicious vegetarian dishes. Voted best Vegetarian restaurant in Victoria.

Green Cuisine - Located in Market Square, Green Cuisine provides its diners with fresh, local vegetarian and vegan dishes.



Casual Dining

Blue Fox Café - Great place for breakfast or lunch with generous portions and great staff. Local favorite.

Sam's Deli - Close to the Inner Harbour. Specializing in oversized sandwiches with a variety of soups, salads and tasty treats. Sam is awesome for lunch on the run.

Pig BBQ Joint - An authentic southern BBQ shack offering down-home cooking in a casual atmosphere.



Tea Rooms

Butchart Gardens - Tour the world famous Gardens and then enjoy afternoon tea with a delectable array of tea sandwiches, sweet pastries and desserts. Served between 1:00pm to 4:00pm daily. Reservations are a must from May 1st to October 15th. No dress code.

James Bay Tea Room - Built in 1907, this turn of the century house serves hearty breakfasts, wonderful lunches, and offers daily tea service. Saturday and Sunday experience their high tea service.

Point Ellice Tea House - This historic home and garden overlooks the Gorge Waterway

White Heather Tea Room - At Fort Street and Oak Bay Avenue junction about 2 miles from Abigail's Hotel. "A delightful Scottish Experience" open for breakfast, Sunday brunch and afternoon tea. Order one of the set tea menus or a la carte. Reservations recommended.



Pubs and Late Night

Irish Times Pub - Busy Irish Pub with live music in a beautifully restored downtown heritage building

Bard and Banker Pub - Lively Scottish Pub with live bands

Spinnakers Brew Pub - Located on the Songhees waterway, Canada's oldest brewpub. Great food made from fresh local ingredients.

Sauce Lounge - Innovative cuisine in a casual inviting atmosphere

The Mint - Incorporates contemporary West Coast and South Asian cuisine. A great spot for late night dining. Open until 2am
